Understanding the Internet

Lesson 1: Buying and Selling on the Internet

The first thing that everyone must understand about the internet is that it is the direct result of what happens when you give everyone who wants it access to sell whatever they want with anonymity. People buy, sell and share things that otherwise wouldn't make it into Marilyn Manson song, much less be broadcast worldwide for all humanity to view or purchase. It's like a worldwide garage sale, and everyone has something to slap a price tag on just a little bit more fucked up than the last person.

This has upsides and downsides. The downside being that now everyone thinks they have something to say, sell, or share that we should all be interested in, the upside obviously being the incredible assortment of bondage gear and bargain price. But how to tell the difference?

So I've arranged some things that I've found here, with comments to help you make sense of insanity, and how many lifetimes it would take a team of trained scientists to understand "what the hell is the deal" with it. For categorization purposes I've also added the department that said item falls under if indeed the internet were a department store, and the estimated price of said item. Aren't I helpful?

That said, please enjoy your stay at the internet.
